Who Will Be the Next State Chair of the Hawai'i Republican Party?
Delegates will cast their vote for State Chair on May 6th at the State Convention in Hilo.
Hawai’i has serious issues-exorbitant cost of living, non-friendly small business regulatory environment, escalating homeless crisis…yet residents continue to elect Democrats who say they will fix the problems that their Party created.
Or do they?
Our elections are nothing but an illusion:
Mail ballots are mailed to everyone on the filthy voter rolls
Drop boxes have no security
The Voter Registration software creates backdated registrations
No one is allowed to see the source code for the elections equipment
The Office of Elections won’t release the audit logs, batch summary reports, ballot defintion files and other election records that need to be analyzed to try and reconcile the anomalies in the CVRs
I see everything through the lens of our election “integrity” crisis.
Hawaii’s many issues won’t be solved unless tackling election corruption takes center stage. This cannot be an afterthought or a low priority, without secure elections we are no better than a banana republic, although pineapple republic is a more fitting description. We are essentially a pineapple republic already- a small tropical state with a massively corrupt government which relies heavily on one export: tourism.
I was interested to hear the Chair candidates’ plans to address Hawai’i’s election integrity crisis, so I sent a survey to the three HRP State Chair Candidates last week: Timothy Dalhouse (Hawai’i county), Michael Jauch (Kaua’i county), and Charlotte Rosecrans (Honolulu county).
Here are their responses in order of receipt:
Michael Jauch:
What motivated you to run for the HRP State Chair position?
HRP’s lack involvement and support for election integrity efforts at the State level.
How will you as State Chair promote "more effective participation of the people in the government of the State of Hawaii"?
Immediate and continuous recruitment of conservative members and candidates for office.
There is concern amongst many members of the HRP that the Party serves the interests of the "establishment" and not the grassroots. What are your thoughts on this?
I agree
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being most transparent and secure-how transparent and secure do you believe Hawaii's elections to be?

Please explain your rationale for the number you chose in the above question:
I have absolutely confidence based on data analysis.
What can be accomplished by the HRP to improve the security and transparency of Hawaii's elections?
All voter rolls dumped and all legitimate voters re-registered with appropriate means of confirmation to eliminate illegal or double registering of voters.
Ban on all electronic election equipment: poll books, voting machines, tabulators.
Paper pen/pencil balloting, granted only with valid ID.
Mail balloting illegal with exception of overseas military, legitimately disabled with appropriate approval and supervision, or professionals unable to vote on Election Day (doctors, pilots, etc.)
No early voting. Counter with more and smaller precincts.
Precincts under 1,000 voters.
Ballot harvesting illegal and punishable by a decade in prison.
Election Day as a state or national holiday. A populist compromise that will eliminate fraud through the means of having weeks or over a month to execute.
Winners announced by midnight. FL and TX can tally 10mm+ votes in 90 minutes after polls close but PA needs 4 days and CA needs 4 weeks.
Ten-year prison terms for anyone caught restricting access for members of any party to observe election procedure (e.g. TCF Center, etc.) ballot harvesting, repeat scanning ballots, or any other means of distorting an election.
Would you PUBLICLY support abolishing universal mail-in voting and a return to one-day in-person elections in Hawaii?
YES
Do you support President Trump's 2024 campaign?
YES
Is there anything else you would like to share w/regard to your desire to be elected HRP State Chair?
I believe the party belongs to the people.

Charlotte Rosecrans:
What motivated you to run for the HRP State Chair position?
I became involved with the HRP with the intention of growing the voice of the people but sooner than later realized that many districts let alone precinct committees were practically non existent. However, while assisting to grow the party, being an elected Regional Vice Chair of the Honolulu County, I started to realize push back from the current leadership. I have continuously been growing the party since and see the desperate need of new leadership, especially coming from the grassroots that does know how a precinct Committee is supposed to function and the pertinence of one, not just the District Chairs. This is where the Power should lie, in the Precincts! I have been committed since 2021 and willing to do what it takes to ensure that we have a functioning Republican party. This is like Benjamin Franklin said that he gave us a Republic, If we can keep it. My intent is to keep our Republic. As State Chair I am committed to promoting the values of Patriotism, election integrity and ensuring everyone's voice is heard. I believe that "If we build it, they will come" mentality for our State and Party. the Field of Dreams saying, because once the people know their power everything will fall in its place, I believe this is what our one party system is concerned about. No more acquiescence, not here, not now.
How will you as State Chair promote "more effective participation of the people in the government of the State of Hawaii"?
As State Chair there are so many issues that are needing major attention but the most pertinent is a functioning 2nd party in our one party State, we have been a one party State for way to long. We have many battles that need much attention like removing Act 136, Rank Choice voting, educating people of their rights, etc. During these past several years there was too much overreach of the people's unalienable rights and I can't sit by and allow our Country, or State be taken from us. This must change. We need to ensure that all Candidates that are going to run for our Constitutional Republic is well educated in the Constitution(s) and informed of their duties before they get elected. Assisting the Candidates in classes for fundraising, properly trained and prepared to walk into the capitol well armed and ready for battle. As Thomas Jefferson states "An elightened citizenry is indispendable for the proper fuctioning of a republic. Self-government is not possible unless the citizens are educated sufficiently to enable them to exercise oversight. It is therefore imperative that the nation see to it that a suitable education be provided for all it's citizens."
There is concern amongst many members of the HRP that the Party serves the interests of the "establishment" and not the grassroots. What are your thoughts on this?
This is very concerning that only a select few are running this entire party. These select few have stolen the voice of the people. How one may ask? Is that the voice of the people majority are the District Chairs within the State Committee.
Since May 2021 till Feb 1, 2023 the State Committee was silenced and ignored. No remedy has ever been heard nor adjudicated with the current State Rules Chair, basically this scenario is synonymous to our Judicial system here in our State. Being that balance for the people is having an elected sheriff which our state only has appointed ones, from the Governor.
While working with our Rules Committee, many rules representatives approved a rule amendment to share with the delegates at the State Convention on May 6th, to allow the delegates in the Convention to elect the State Rules Chair and not allow the Chair of the party appoint this person with no oversight. For the last several years there was no accountability and the approval lied with the select few "Executive Committee" giving all the authority.
We are fighting to ensure that everyone is involved, not just some.
Come stand with me. KU ILUNA KAKOU

Please explain your rationale for the number you chose in the above question:
When the legislature attempts to pass legislation for Scott Nago, the Chief elections officer to not have to audit the voting process I believe this pretty much says it all. We need to go back to in person voting, get rid of these machines and educate people the pertinence of this right. Once they take away our vote, what do we have?
What can be accomplished by the HRP to improve the security and transparency of Hawaii's elections?
Ensuring that we have an election integrity committee year round to ensure proper election process to be initiated and followed through, i.e. a chair of such committee be the liaison between our committee and the State/Counties to ensure our voice is heard. Getting funding to purchase voter rolls monthly to hold accountability to the State/Counties. This committee could help assist in creating of legislation to ensure our election process is being more transparent every year. Eventually being able to have a call center during elections time to help the voters of any issues that may come from attempting to vote. It would be my honor to say that we, the State of Hawaii, were able to go back to in person paper ballot voting.

Is there anything else you would like to share w/regard to your desire to be elected HRP State Chair?
Being that I have been working with about 20 Districts throughout the Counties, mostly on Oahu, I seen many issues needing attention. As being the Regional Vice Chair of West Honolulu since I was elected back in March 2021 and assisting in East Honolulu and Windward Oahu regions also, during the most difficult time of the worlds historic pandemic. To being able to support and grow the party with many people losing their jobs, not quitting the HRP and showing up to zoom meetings being silenced, getting kicked out without due process, to having some meetings being invalidated for no reason with no remedy. Also being able to support all these districts during this time was an honor to stand with all my districts to do so. I have met so many wonderful God fearing people that want a better Hawaii. We have definitely gone through many storms. I am willing to stand through these next few storms to ensure that we will have a 2 party state.

Timothy Dalhouse:
Mr. Dalhouse did not respond to the survey request.
As the leader of the Hawai’i Republican Party, the State Chair is in a position to stand for and prioritize election reform. By supporting (or ignoring) election integrity, the Chair singlehandedly gives validation and a voice to Hawai’i’s grassroots efforts for election security and transparency.
Silence speaks volumes.
There is of course more that needs to be evaluated than a candidate’s stance on election integrity and reform.
I asked Signe Godfey, one of our recent past State Chairs, for some words of wisdom on the subject. Here was her reply:
What I learned as Chair are these 3 skills which helps and are needed:
1. Working knowledge of Parliamentary Procedures Robert’s Rules of Order.
If you don’t know parliamentary procedures have a Parliamentarian at every meeting.
2. Know the rules of HRP. Memorize if possible. The Parliamentarian also has to know the rules.
3. Listen to everyone with objectivity. Be sure to acknowledge all who want to speak and explain why if they cannot be allowed to speak.
4. Listen to your instincts.
Hope this helps our next Chair.
Signe
I hope this article also helps you to evaluate our candidates for State Chair.
See you next Saturday in Hilo!
